About
Sanborn...
Welcome to Room 20! I am so excited to begin this school year- I hope you are too. Check out my webpage for helpful announcements, newsletters and other odds and ends.
I have three children, Annabelle, Andrew and Benjamin. In my free time I like to read, watch movies, run and spend time with my kids.
My Education and Professional Background
I have been teaching since 2000, grades ranging from kindergarten to third grade. I was even a Reading Specialist for a year. In addition I taught at the collegiate level for five years. I have an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University and a Master's degree in Early Childhood and Reading. I feel so blessed to be a part of the Carlson community and I am looking forwad to a year of challenge, growth and learning.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe children are a gift, and each one is special. It is my job as a teacher to get to know each of my students and undertand what motivates them. While we have strong academic standards and numerous goals, it is important for each child to feel safe and loved when they walk into my room.
