    Hi there! I'm Ms. Monaco and I am so happy to be a part of the 2nd grade team here at Basha Elementary. I look forward to a great year full of learning, fun, and new adventures!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I've been working with children since I was 15 years old. I was fortunate enough to know from a very early age that I wanted to be an educator. I ran the aftercare program in Kyrene School District for 8 years before getting a Bachelors Degree in Family and Human Development at ASU. I then went back and received my Masters in Education from ASU as well! I joined Chandler Unified School district in 2017 and have had the privilege of teaching both 2nd and 3rd grade.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe my role as an educator is to nurture and encourage the lifelong learning of my students through hands-on activities, classroom discussion, and even the use of humor. I hope to prompt students to think creatively and explore further. When students enjoy the space created in a classroom with help from their teacher, they are willing to take risks and expand their thinking.
