Zappe...
I'm an Arizona native and both of my parents have worked in the education field. I am very close with my family, but most of my extended family members live in either Minnesota or New York. I try to go back and visit as frequently as possible, but I truly do love this state that I call home. In my free time, I love to read, travel, watch movies, and hang out with family and friends!
My Education and Professional Background
I have been teaching since 2012. I began with long term substituting in preschool and then spent 4 years teaching first grade at a charter school in Chandler. I have been teaching second grade at Carlson since 2017. I love being a Carlson Champion!! I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every child has the capacity to learn, but the way in which they learn best may be different. I believe it is my job as a teacher to facilitate and incoorperate a variety of different learning styles within my lessons and to differentiate based on the individual needs of my students. I also whole heartedly believe in the importance of creating a classroom community where every child feels safe, respected, and valued. It is my goal to instill a love of learning into my students. I plan to encourage every child within my class to become lifelong learners!
