Hi! Parents, welcome to visit my web page! I am the Teacher of the Year for the Arizona Language Teacher Association 2022. I have been exposed to diverse cultures throughout my career and speak Mandarin as well as several other languages. I also serve as a school immersion program professional learning community leader, leading K to 6th Grade Mandarin immersion teachers planning together. I was delighted to be entering her 11th year in the United States as a Mandarin immersion teacher. She has been working in education for 14 years, has a BA in China from Shaoxing University, and also received her M.A. in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I love teaching immersion programs and bringing as much of the culture into the classroom as possible through music and learning about different traditions. In 2018, I was invited by Arizona State University to be the master teacher and conducted a Professional Development Workshop for its DLI Academy. Through the years, I gave presentations on best practices in teaching at different conferences. The core of my educational philosophy is that through early and sustained immersion in the Chinese language with culture integrated throughout, students will achieve high academic attainment, be highly proficient in two languages, and develop sensitivity and tolerance for other cultures.
