About
Platt...
Hello! We have an exciting year ahead of us in World History and Geography. Buckle up! We will cover everything from the Age of Exploration to modern terrorism. Welcome to Perry!
My Education and Professional Background
I am an Arizona native, and my husband and I love raising our 3 children here in the Gilbert part of the valley. I am a Sun Devil through and through with both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Education from Arizona State University. I started teaching history back in 2001 and I love being part of the Perry family. I am the sponsor of the Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society where we celebrate the best and brightest social studies students on campus.
My Educational Philosophy
In our classroom, each person will have the opportunity to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. In this class we study how humans have survived and developed throughout history. As we study the past, we will work together as a group to become more responsible citizens of our classroom, our community, and the world. I will promote a positive classroom environment where students feel safe to express their feelings and ideas. We will all learn from each other's differences and experiences - which is why we study history in the first place!
