GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Ashley Hayes from Chandler Early College is a friend to all who know her. She is kind, generous, and funny! Ashley enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her cherished cat, Sushi. Her family is so proud of Ashley; she has overcome many obstacles to reach her goals! SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Savannah McIntyre plans to continue her community college courses after graduation with the intention of transferring to ASU or NAU. Her greatest accomplishment was overcoming previous academic struggles to graduate on time. Other than work and school, Savannah would like to travel -- especially to France and Korea since she has been independently studying those languages. Chandler Early College Senior Spotlights

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Brianda Tapia has been working two jobs her entire senior year. Her plan after graduation is to attend a Mesa barber school. Brianda also works on her truck in her own time and would like to finish it shortly after her graduation. Chandler Early College Senior Spotlights

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Alana Curtis was a student at CEC for four years and will graduate in May. She has taken advantage of the EVIT program and plans to continue her medical training after graduation. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Dahlia Torres is graduating a year early. She is planning on attending Chandler-Gilbert Community College in the fall of 2022 and wants to continue folklorico dancing and volunteering. Congratulations, Dahlia! Chandler Early College Senior Spotlights

SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Maya Mendenhall first became interested in horses at the age of six. By the time she was 10, she was competing in jackpots. By 13, she found herself immersed in the junior rodeo circuit. As she and her family did yet not own a horse of their own, she had no choice but to ride the horses of others. It was from each of these unique experiences, however, that Maya believes she honed the necessary skills needed to excel at the sport. She eventually used money she earned from working after school to purchase a horse of her own, which she named Payson. Maya and Payson have since won countless awards and trophies from dozens of competitions. Mendenhall, who currently attends East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) and is studying to be a veterinary assistant, plans to attend university here in Arizona to study veterinary medicine and eventually become a veterinarian. SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Koen Symalla came to Chandler Early College as a freshman and has been a consistent performer academically as well as a model citizen representative of the student body. In addition to CEC, Koen has attended East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) for the last year, studying Emergency Medicine. Recently, he and a partner competed in the Emergency Medical Technician portion of the Arizona HOSA Competition. The event consisted of two rounds. The first round involved a multiple choice and written test. In the second round, the two showcased their hands-on skills. Not only did the pair score the highest written score of the event, but the duo ultimately took 1st place overall in the state. The pair will now head to Orlando in June for the HOSA International Leadership Conference. After high school, Koen plans on attending the Pima Medical Institute to become a paramedic. His ultimate goal is to be a firefighter or SWAT medic. Chandler Early College Seniors Highlights

SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Theodore "Teddy" Ruth has been a Chandler Early College student for the majority of his high school career. Teddy carries with him a solid 3.3 GPA and has been an active member of Student Council for the last two years. He is a past recipient of the CEC Character Award for Trustworthiness. He has been a student at EVIT for the last two years, studying Information Technology and Engineering Careers (iTEC). Recently, Teddy competed in the Interactive Media and Game Design Competition at the SkillsUSA Arizona Championships. He and his partner took first place in the state. In June, both will compete at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference competition in Kentucky. Upon graduation, Teddy will be attending Chandler Gilbert Community College before transferring to a four-year university to complete his bachelor's degree in either Computer Science or Computer Programming and Game Design.
