Some of the more complicated sounding topics are actually the easiest.

Bags need to be put away during class
Classwork is given on a daily basis. Time will be given to complete in class. If the assignment is not completed it must be completed out of class. Work must be presented on time to receive credit. If you are absent or swept, it is your responsibility to find out what you have missed and make it up. Class work will be graded on a 5 point scale where:
5 = Perfect
4 = 1 Minor Error
3 = 1 major Error or Multiple Minor Errors
2 = Incorrect With Basic Understanding
1 = Incorrect With No Understanding
0 = Not Handed In
Late work will receive full credit if it is received before the next class. Between 1 day and a week it will receive 1/2 credit. Late work will not be accepted after each quarter. For substantial assignments a retake form will have to be filled out before the test/Lab can be made up.
Grades are based on cumulative points throughout the quarter. The grades are weighted with:
Test/Quizzes 34%
Classwork/Homework 33%
Labs/Activities 33%
All students will take Final Exams and there is no extra credit. This class is designed so that any student putting forth the effort to attend and participate in class every day, complete assignments on time, study for tests, and seek help when needed will be successful.
ATTENDENCE:
Attendance is based on engagement. If a student is not present for synchronous instruction and does not complete the asynchronous/alternative assignment for the daily class meeting, then the student is considered absent. Teachers will contact attendance clerks once a student is determined to be absent. This policy is tentative and subject to change.
LAB SAFETY: Labs are an important part of this course. Lab safety is a very serious matter and students will be closely monitored for compliance with lab procedures. Students and parents are expected to sign the attached safety information sheet and contract electronically through Google Classroom. The following violations will result in student removal from the lab and a zero on the lab activity until the student makes-up the lab:
- Failure to wear appropriate clothing on lab days
- Failure to wear goggles while working in the lab
- Engaging in horseplay or unapproved activities
- Lack of preparedness for the lab activity
All students will take Final Exams and there is no extra credit. This class is designed so that any student putting forth the effort to attend and participate in class every day, complete assignments on time, study for tests, and seek help when needed will be successful.
HELP/TUTORING: If a student finds themselves struggling I am available for help after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 until 3:30. It is best to check with me in class to ensure that I will be available, as all teachers have meetings and school related activities that may take them away from their classroom.Appropriate use of technology – board policy IJNDC-R:
