    Grading Scale:

Semester grades for all classes at CHS are determined on a 40/40/20 calculation.  This means that 40% of the semester grade is from the 1st quarter, 40% from the 2nd quarter, and 20% is the final exam.

    Tardies:

Please try your best to make it to class on time.  Excessive tardies will result in school consequences (missing class time/missing assignments, detention, etc).

Classroom activities that will be used to determine your grade include:

    • Frequent Grade Check Sheets, Binder Checks, and Weekly Reflections
    • Participation (this grade includes completion of work during general ed. assignment time).

Tests and other Strategies assignments will be given at the discretion of the teacher.

It is your responsibility to be successful.  This class is designed to help you do that.  Most class periods you will have the opportunity to complete assignments from other classes.  If you choose not to perform in this classroom or if your behavior is preventing other students from learning, you will be removed from the room with a referral or other disciplinary action.  IF this behavior continues, you will have further disciplinary action taken (i.e. ISD, Off campus suspension, etc.).

CHS provides an after-school tutoring to assist all students who need additional help with classroom assignments, mainly on Tuesdays/Thursdays.  Students will need to get more information from their core teachers about the days they stay after school for tutoring.  All students at CHS should be successful, please note that all teachers make themselves available to help the students, it is the students’ job to set the time, arrange a ride, and make the tutoring session.

Electronic devices including IPods, cell phones, etc. are NOT PERMITTED unless otherwise noted!  WHEN NOT PERMITTED AND I SEE THEM OR HEAR THEM, I WILL COLLECT THEM AND A PARENT WILL HAVE TO PICK THEM UP FROM THE SCHOOL OFFICE. A DISCIPLINE REFERRAL WILL BE WRITTEN IF IT BECOMES AN EXCESSIVE PROBLEM.

PLEASE BRING NEEDED MATERIALS TO CLASS: PENS, PENCILS, AND PAPER ETC.  YOU WILL NEED A COMPOSITION/SPIRAL NOTEBOOK!
