Receiving her first basketball hoop at the age of 3 her love of the sport consumed her life starting her first team play on a co-ed team at the Tempe Boys and Girls Club.  As soon as she hit 7th grade she participated in the sport every school year, playing varsity all four years of high school.  At the age of 12 she entered a skills competition sponsored by Nike and Lady Foot Locker.  There were more than 10,000 girls across the country competing in this program and Amy was one of 36 finalists to advance to the Championships in Florida where she took 8th place.  Her summers were filled with  AAU club ball as a starting 2 guard for the Future Arizona Starz under the tutelage of Jerry Lee.   Being the youngest player on this team she travelled and competed against players who were 2 or 3 years older.  In 1998 the Starz qualified for the AAU Nationals in Louisiana where they competed and took 2nd place.

Coach Andrews went on to play Varsity basketball her freshman year of high school at Mesquite High School.  After her first year there, she moved on to play last three years at Marcos de Niza High school, where she also played Varsity basketball.  She now runs her own Non-Profit basketball organization called the Lady Royals!  Along with that, this season is Coach Andrews' first year as the Head Coach of the Junior Varsity Girls Soccer team! Go Lady Wolves!

Coach Andrews is a dedicated, passionate teacher and coach.  She utilizes her experience and knowledge to instill in her players what it takes to succeed on and off the court.  She never gives up and continues to give instruction and guidance whether winning or losing!  Knowing that every individual learns in their own time and way she will do what it takes to reach each and every athlete.
