• AS 100: Milestones in Aviation History
Milestones in Aviation History is a course that covers the development of flight throughout the centuries.  It all starts with an examination of ancient civilizations and flight, then progresses through time to future developments in aerospace, with an introduction into cyber technologies.

Our intent is to bring alive the significant discoveries and inventions that have made flight possible for today and beyond.  We will also focus on the people who helped make these discoveries in flight a reality.  Short profiles and videos of famous people who have played significant roles in aviation are also included.  This course lays the foundation for future AFJROTC aerospace science courses.  Our goal with Milestones in Aviation History is to stimulate an interest in aerospace technology.

During the fall semester we will cover Chapters 1 - 3.  During the spring semester we will cover Chapters 3 - 6.  Aerospace Science (AS) will comprise 40% of your total class time. (1/2 elective credit per semester) *

AS 200 The Science of Flight
The Science of Flight: A Gateway to New Horizons is an introductory course that focuses on how airplanes fly, how weather conditions affect flight, flight and the human body, and flight navigation.  This course is designed to complement materials taught in math, science physics, and other science related courses.  The course delves into the principles of flight, explores how weather conditions affect flight, how flight affects the human body, and examines flight navigation with a focus on the purpose of navigational aids.

Cadets will gain a greater understanding of the science of flight.  This knowledge can help cadets pursue a career in aviation, learn how to fly, and make them a more knowledgeable passenger on an airplane.  Seize the opportunities that the science of flight has set before you!  During the fall semester we will cover Chapter 1, Lessons 1-6, and Chapter 2, Lessons 1-5.

AS 300 Exploring Space: The High Frontier

Exploring Space: The High Frontier (Second Edition) is a science course in the high school sequence of Aerospace Science courses for Air Force Junior ROTC.  It is intended to compliment the material taught in high school math, physics, and other STEM-related courses.  This course provides students with the latest information on exploring space and an introduction to cybersecurity and technology.  We begin with early astronomy and the basic interest in the universe from the Greeks through the Renaissance and Enlightenment ages.  Students will experience an in-depth view of the solar system, including Earth, the Sun, the Moon, and planets.  We will also examine the history of space travel and more modern space probes and robotics as well as the effects of space on the human body.  Students will have the opportunity to investigate the history of rockets, launch vehicles, and the coordinated systems required for a successful launch into space.  Cybersecurity will be examined with a focus on the importance of cybersecurity in space and in daily life.  During the fall semester we will cover Chapters 1-4.  During the spring semester we will cover Chapters 5-8.  Aerospace Science (AS) will comprise 40% of your total class time. AS 400 Cultural Studies: An Introduction to Global Awareness
Cultural Studies: An Introduction to Global Awareness is a customized course about the world's cultures.  Students are introduced to the world's cultures through the study of world affairs, regional studies, and cultural awareness.  The course delves into history, geography, religions, languages, culture, political systems, economics, social issues, environmental concerns, and human rights.  It looks at major events and significant figures that have shaped each region.  In this age when the Internet, trade, airplanes, satellites, and cell phones connect people everywhere, it’s more important than ever to understand the world's cultures. Even if you never leave the United States, you may find yourself working with or managing people from different parts of the world.  If you end up working overseas, you will find that the more insight you have into other countries' history and customs, the more successfully you will navigate your way around new and exciting lands.  Features in this book include detailed topographical (mountains, rivers, etc.) and political maps.  Colored boxes add brief additional information about related topics, while fast Facts offer extra tidbits of information.  The photos provide glimpses of present-day life in these lands. You will see how people dress and what their cities, cars, streets, buildings, and homes look like.  While historical photos can be extremely interesting, this textbook supplies you with pictures of what these countries look like today.

During the fall semester we will cover Chapter 1, Lessons 1-5, and Chapter 2, Lessons 1-5.  During the spring semester we will cover Chapter 4, Lessons 1-5 and Chapter 6, Lessons 1-5.  Aerospace Science will comprise 40% of your total class time. (1/2 elective credit per semester) *

    AS 500 Honor Guard
The mission of the Chandler High School Corps of Cadets Honor Guard is to represent AFJROTC to the American public.

The vision of the Chandler High School Corps of Cadets Honor Guard is to ensure a legacy of cadets who promote the mission, protect the standards, perfect the image, and preserve the heritage.

Honor Guard members are responsible for ensuring that they are physically and mentally prepared to flawlessly execute a mission that requires a deep devotion to duty and a strong sense of dedication.  Through precise drill movements, immaculate uniform appearance and attention to detail, honor guard members display the integrity, service, and excellence expected of all members.  They are continually presented with opportunities to challenge themselves as they attempt to assume the responsibilities associated with being an Ambassador in Blue. Each member is responsible for their level of personal and professional conduct and their personal and professional development; a level ultimately determined by the strength of their personal commitment. This is a chance to challenge yourself more than you ever thought possible; being entrusted to uphold extremely high standards, epitomize perfection in dress and appearance, customs and courtesies, and drill and ceremonies. You alone determine what you will become. It's all about attitude and commitment; make the impossible inevitable, defy the limits of physical and mental endurance. Remember, the beginning determines the end. The Honor Guard class is a 7th hour course meeting Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
