    There are a number of different digital tools that can help you conduct formative assessments in your classroom (many of these tools are flexible enough to serve other purposes, too). Remember to always ask the following questions when choosing which tool(s) to use:

    • What kind of technology will I have available when I need to assess my students?
    • How comfortable will my students be using this technology? How comfortable will I be?
    • What benefit does this technology really bring to my instruction and student learning?

    We have broken down some tools into different categories, and in each part of this course, we will cover one tool from each category as listed below (alternatives have been listed when available, too):
