How do I access my Parent Portal?
Please reach out to your school for instructions.
We live the required distance to be eligible for busing. Why is the registration app saying ineligible due to distance?
The application doesn’t always detect the true walking distance from home to school. If you receive this message and feel you are, in fact, within an eligible distance, please submit an Exception Request. See EligibilityWe live under the required distance, but there isn't a safe walking path to school. Please file an exception request in your parent portal. We will assess the area.
I initially marked ‘No’. We now need busing. Can I go back into my portal and change to ‘yes’?
Unfortunately, no, you cannot go in and change your request. However, you may fill out the Special Transportation Request Form Transportation Request Form and send that to routing@cusd80.com. Please be sure to mention in the body of the email or on the form that you marked 'No', but now need it changed to 'Yes'.Can I still register for the current school year?
You can register for the current school year up until the date the registration opens for the following school year. Once the new year registration opens, you can no longer submit an online request for the current school year. Please call Transportation for help 480-424-8600.
We have moved. How can we get a bus assigned that reflects our new address?
Update your address with your student’s school. Once that is completed, you can re-register in the parent portal.
Why did I receive an error message when trying to register my student(s)?
Please check that your student’s Infinite Campus account details are correct. Contact your school for more information.My student is not showing up in my parent portal. Please reach out to your school. There is something that needs to be corrected within their Infinite Campus account.
How do I get my student’s busing details?
Log into your Parent Portal for busing details.Parent Portal Transportation Tab The new school year’s information is typically uploaded the week after July 4th.What is the cut-off date for 2024-25 Transportation Registration?
You can register for busing from May 6, 2024 through the Spring of 2025. However, if you'd like your eligible student(s) to be assigned a bus route by the 1st day of the 2024-25 school year, we recommend getting them registered before July 3, 2024.
My Special Needs student attends an out of district/private day school, but is transported by CUSD. Do I need to register them in the parent portal?
No. Please reach out to your CUSD liaison for more information.
How long does it take for bus details to appear in my student’s Infinite Campus Account?
Typically 48-72 business hours after your student has been approved through Transportation Registration. If your student attends an out of district/private day school, their bus details will not appear on Infinite Campus. Also note: if your student has dual residences, only bus details for the Primary address listed on their account will show in Infinite Campus. The additional household will need to contact Transportation for bus details, if accepted.Do I need to know my student’s ID number?
Yes, you must have your student’s ID number ready when contacting Transportation.
How will I know my Transportation Registration was submitted correctly?
You will receive a date/time stamp of submission. A message will also be sent to the email address we have on file for you in Infinite Campus.
When will I know if my Exception Request is Accepted or Denied?
Once an Exception Request is reviewed (by July 4), an Accepted or Denied (with reason for denial) message will be sent to the email address we have on file for you. In-District Open Enrollment Exception Requests will not be assessed until 4-6 weeks after school begins. This allows time for us to make sure all eligible, In- Boundary students are accounted for.
I’ve already submitted my Exception Request. Can I change my reason for the request?
No
If my student has a Transportation Request in their IEP, do I register them in the parent portal?
No need. Please contact your school to make sure your student's IEP is up-to-date with the correct transport details. Our routing department will manually assign your student busing, emailing you and the school with the details.
My student does not need and/or qualify for Transportation. Do I still need to go into my portal and register them?
No
My student has an IEP but does not need Specialized Transport. Do I need to register them in the parent portal.
Yes
Our student has dual residences. Do both parents register for transportation?
Yes, both parents will register using their own parent portal. We advise that you make sure both addresses are correctly listed in the student’s Infinite Campus account. Contact your school to make any address changes.Please note: Only bus details for the Primary address on the account will be seen in Infinite Campus. The additional household will need to contact Transportation for busing details, if applicable.
I marked ‘yes’, but my student no longer needs busing or has never ridden the bus, who should I contact?
Please fill out this form Request Form & email to routing@cusd80.com. Please be sure to state that you originally said No to transportation, but now need to change it to Yes.Will my student be removed from the bus roster if they do not ride?
Yes. Transportation will assess ridership each quarter. Students that were registered, but have never ridden in that quarter will be removed from the roster. If you have a special circumstance that temporarily inhibits your student's ridership for an entire quarter, please reach out to Transportation @ 480-424-8600.My student attends EVIT and will need busing. Do I need to register them online for EVIT transport as well?
No. Online Transportation Registration is for busing to and from their CUSD school only. Please reach out to your school's office to sign up for EVIT transport. They will provide EVIT bus details at the start of the new school year.
My student's status shows as Recorded from OLR. What does this mean?
It means your transportation request was recorded during the enrollment process. There is nothing more you need to do.

Student IDs
IDENTIFICATION CARDS (ID) STUDENT IDENTIFICATION
Secondary (JH & HS) students are required to carry school-issued identification cards at all times. IDs are required for use in the cafeteria, media center, and on buses. If a student loses their ID card, they may purchase a replacement for a fee, as determined by each site. Students shall identify themselves by name and ID, upon request by site administrator, SRO, security, or any District staff member.

Eligibility
Eligible denotes any registered CUSD student that resides within CUSD boundaries, is attending their homeschool (school that is in boundary based on their primary legal home address), and resides more than 1 mile (Elementary & Junior High) or 1.5 miles (High School) from their homeschool.

Basha AMS, Knox, Weinberg, HLA, EPA, TOP, Opportunity must fill out a Transportation Request Form and email it to routing@cusd80.com.
The following schools do not have busing: CTA Freedom, CTA Goodman, CTA Independence, and Galveston.
Please contact your student's school of attendance for more information regarding Specialized Transportation Requests for students on an IEP and/or that qualify under the McKInney-Vento Act.

What time should my student arrive at the a.m. bus stop?
Students are asked to be at their designated bus stop location at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled pick-up time.

What if my student’s bus is late; a.m. or p.m.?
Due to unforeseen circumstances, buses may be late. The Transportation Department will do its best to communicate these delays through ParentSquare.

Can parents ride the bus with their child?
No, parents may not ride on our buses except on field trips.

How are bus stops determined?
Stops are assigned by general location of enrolled students and must meet state regulations for safety. Typical stop locations are within subdivisions, near parks, common-walls, and retention areas. Stops must be at least 50 feet from a signed intersection.

How do I find my child’s bus stop information?
Bus details are available in Infinite Campus under the Transportation

Can my child ride home on another bus?
Students are only permitted to ride their assigned bus. -
Can my child invite friends to ride the bus with them?
Due to full capacity buses and our severe driver shortage, we are unable to approve such requests.

What if my child left something on the bus?
Found items are left on the bus. Your student may collect their belongings from the driver the next time they board the bus.

What are the bus rules?

What if my child receives a conduct referral for inappropriate behavior?
All bus conduct referrals are sent to the school administrator. Per district policy, the school administrator determines all disciplinary action. (See the section on the Safe Student Transportation Program.)

What training programs do bus drivers attend?
Chandler School District bus drivers exceed the minimum training requirements of the State of Arizona which consists of classroom training, behind the wheel training, & first aid/CPR. They must also attend annual refresher training sessions and maintain minimum refresher training hours.
