2023-2024 CUSD Lecture Series

  • The CUSD Lecture Series is a professional learning community that invites thought leaders to CUSD around an array of topics within an inclusive learning domain. This year's lecture series focuses on cultural competency. The series will explore what, why and how of cultural competency in meeting the varied instructional and holistic needs of diverse learners.

Historically, educators have focused on technical solutions to meet the educational needs of students outside the dominant group. However, research has revealed that technical solutions alone will not close the learning and behavioral gaps. Rather, technical solutions coupled with cultural solutions must be at the center of teaching and learning. The sessions will actively engage participants in building their cultural capacity of staff.

Questions during the lecture will be sent to Dr. Adama Sallu and will be answered during the Q & A section of the lecture.
