Chandler High School Agriculture Program
Classroom Procedures
Welcome to the CHS Agriculture Program. I am glad to have you here and hope that your enrollment in this class will provide a meaningful education experience. For everything to go smoothly we need some guidelines. Please make sure that you understand them and follow them so that all can enjoy the courses and activities associated with the program.
CLASSROOM POLICIES AND COURTESIES
1. Come to class on time! Be in your seat with your notebook, pencil and required books when the bell rings. Being late is a poor habit that employers dislike. Being late is disruptive to the rest of the class and will cost you points toward your grade. If you are late, bring a pass or it will be a tardy! More than 15 minutes late = absence.
a. First Tardy = Verbal Warning
b. Second Tardy = 10 pts off citizenship grade
c. Third Tardy = 25 pts off citizenship grade and parent contact
d. Four or more Tardies will result in 50 pts off grade plus referral to Saturday School
**USING THE RESTROOMS IN THE BUILDING IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR TARDINESS!
2. Show your manners by; abstaining from swearing, respecting school and other Students’ property i.e. tables, chairs, bulletin boards, books, tools, equipment, backpacks, pencils, books, etc.
3. Treat other students and teacher with respect and common courtesy.
4. Remain seated in the classroom until dismissed by the teacher.
5. When performing lab work, move to the labs quickly and begin to work in a timely manner and finish all tasks assigned to you.
6. Put away tools and equipment in labs every time you work there.
CONSEQUENCES
First Offense - Warning
Second Offense - Conference with student, detention or other consequence as deemed necessary.
Third Offense - Parental contact, or other consequence as necessary.
Major Offense - Referral to Principal, Security called, or other necessary steps.
*ANY TIME DETENTION IS ASSIGNED, IT MUST BE SERVED WITHIN 48 HOURS OR ADDITIONAL CONSEQUENCES WILL BE GIVEN.
GRADING
Points will be assigned on a variety of activities such as Daily Assignments, Quizzes, Skill Development Exercises, Exams, Major Projects, SAE Program, Leadership Activities and Citizenship, etc. It is critical for you to complete all assignments on time. If you are absent, missed assignments must be made up within one class period. Points will be as follows:

SAE Program 20% 80% = B
Leadership Activities 10% 70% = C
Citizenship 10% 60% = D 59% or less = F
Leadership PointsTo improve the leadership activities of our chapter and to create a better forum for sharing ideas, we have created a Leadership Grade that will be a part of the semester grade. This grade will be based on your attendance at specific leadership activities and your participation in the committee work of our chapter.
There will be 200 points per semester for the Leadership Grade. The following are ways to earn points.
AgriScience I, II, III, Agricultural Mechanics, Agricultural Business Management
50 pts Attend Chandler FFA Chapter Meetings
50 pts. Chapter Officer/Committee Chair
25 pts Co Chair a major FFA activity
10 pts Attendance a committee meetings
50 pts Chapter Public Speaking/Parliamentary Procedure Contests
10 pts Participate in Science Fair
25 pts Participate in a CDE above the chapter level.
