Welcome!
I am thrilled to be a part of the amazing faculty at Elite Performance Academy. I am looking forward to a great year! EPA 7th and 8th grade ELA and Honors English courses engage students in an advanced level of language arts study. Students will refine reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills through the exploration of inspiring and challenging literature.
My Education and Professional Background
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Ottawa University, and a Master’s Degree in teaching from Grand Canyon University. I meet the highly qualified teacher requirements with endorsements in Middle School Language Arts and Structured English Immersion. I have achieved the levels of Model and Master Educator in Accelerated Reading through Renaissance Learning. I began my teaching career in 1998 and have taught at various grade levels.
My Educational Philosophy
My mission is to motivate students and teach strategies that encourage them to be life-long learners. I recognize that all students are individuals with diverse learning styles, and believe in holding high expectations. I design my classes to be highly engaging with rigorous standards. I emphasize that each student has something unique to offer. Our class is enhanced when everyone participates and contributes ideas. Respect and kindness are essential character traits required for each student I teach.
