Hello my name is Mrs. Howell and I am the Counselor here at Hartford Elementary. I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with all of the fantastic students and families here at Hartford. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns about your child and their emotional well-being or with any concern that I could help with as a Counselor.
My Education and Professional Background
I did my undergraduate and graduate work at Arizona State University, go sun devils! I was an elementary school teacher for 4 years before I went back to school to become a Counselor. I loved being a teacher, however I wanted to be able to work with students and their families to create healthy and happy home environments. I am passionate about Education and have seen the wonderful things that have happened in my life because of it.
My Educational Philosophy
I firmly believe that each and every student can be successful in school. With the support of their teachers/administrators, peers, and families the sky's the limit to what can be achieved. I believe in working hard and asking for help when necessary, since we all need it sometimes. I am here to be a part of that help and support, as we help our students achieve academic success.
