School Safety Highlights

    • Full-time District Safety Director - Mark Huish
    • Safety team at every school
    • Designated school resource officer at every junior high and high school
    • Designated school safety officer assigned to each elementary site
    • Ongoing safety drills are practiced regularly which follow ADE / FEMA guidelines.
    • All administrators are FEMA-trained
    • Cameras installed on all campuses
    • District safety staff participate in ongoing safety training
    • Front office hardening projects expanding to all elementary sites
    • All CUSD staff will wear name badges
    • All visitors at the campuses must wear a visible site-approved name badge/sticker
    • Classroom doors will be closed and locked throughout the school day 
    • Elementary staff will wear a safety vest while on duty
    • Sites are equipped with radios for emergencies
    • Close relationship with all three municipalities (Chandler, Gilbert,  & Queen Creek)
