Kindergarten Information 2024-2025

School Year: July 17, 2024 - May 22, 2025The Chandler Unified School District is pleased to offer full-day kindergarten at no cost to parents for the 2024-25 school year. If you live outside of Chandler Unified School District, you must submit an Elementary Open Enrollment Application. Students who will turn 5 by August 31, 2024, are eligible to enroll in kindergarten. Now accepting registrations for the 2024-25 school. Registration
All Chandler Unified School District families are asked to complete the registration online for their attendance boundary school. Click here for more information regarding Online Student Registration.

Open Enrollment Application
If you have an interest in your child attending a school other than your attendance boundary school, you may submit an Elementary Open Enrollment Application. Visit the Elementary Open Enrollment section for more information.
If the older sibling is attending another school through Open Enrollment, the entering kindergarten student will need a completed Open Enrollment Application submitted online.
Open Enrollment Applications for the 2024-25 school year will be available beginning January 8, 2024.
Options

Full-day and Half-day
CUSD kindergarten classes meet for a full day. However, if a parent prefers a half-day program, the following options may be available:- If enough parents at a site request a half-day option, then the half day program will be offered at that site.

If a program is not offered at the home school site, the parent may transport the child to another site that offers a half-day program. District transportation is not available.

The child may attend at the home school site and leave at the half-day dismissal time. Other students in the room will be attending for the full day, but the class will be structured in such a way that the students receives the instruction required.
In the past we have not had significant requests nor enrollments to sturcture a half-day kindergarten program. If one becomes available, information will be posted on this page.

Your child will need to qualify for Gifted services and an Open Enrollment Application will also need to be completed for your child to be considered for one of the schools above.

Early Entrance
A child who turns 5 between September 1 and December 31, 2024 may be eligible to enter school early by taking the Kindergarten Readiness Test. An Open Enrollment Application will also be required. Click here for information on Kindergarten readiness testing.
