CTA Liberty Running Club Races will be held at Tumbleweed Park on the following dates:

Students must wear tennis shoes, their uniform or a running club shirt on practice days. Students may not change before practice.
Remind your child to go to the bathroom and fill up their water bottle before coming to practice.
Students may have a snack to eat at the end of practice.
If your child cannot make it to practice, please let one or all of the coaches know to give your child an excused absence.
Running ClubWhat: A club offered to students in grades1-6 here at CTA Liberty. If your child is inKindergarten and they have an older sibling in running club, he/she may also participate. We meet twice a week to build endurance, confidence, friendships and team spirit through long distance running. In 3rd quarter, the runners will have 3 opportunities to compete against other CUSD schools. Additionally, if you would like to run with us, parents are always welcome to volunteer or donate snack.When: Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:40-3:40 pm throughout 2nd and 3rd quarter. On these days, be sure that your child wears tennis shoes to school and that they bring a water bottle to stay hydrated during the school day and at practice. In 3rd quarter we will have 3 races against other Chandler schools on Tuesdays or Thursdays.Where: We meet on the basketball courts and will run around the lacrosse field behind the school.RacesBefore each race we will have a qualifying raceat practice. To qualify, your child must run 1.5 miles in 25 minutes or less. They will receive their permission slip at practice that day. The permission slip muts be signed and returned to Miss Freeman by the due date. Running Club races are held at Tumbleweed Park. The races begin at 3:45 pm. We ask that the students try to be there by 3:15 so that we can gather up as a team and warm up for the race. Each race ends at approximately 4:45 pm depending on when all the runners have finished. When the race is over, there is an award ceremony for the top 5 finishers of each grade level and gender. We ask that parents bring their child to and from each race.
