Although Chandler Unified educates less than 4% of the students in Arizona, CUSD students took home almost half of the state’s Best of Fair Awards at the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AzSEF) held at the Phoenix Convention Center from March 22nd - 23rd, 2018! Best of Fair winners from the Senior High Division go on to compete at the prestigious Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), which will be held in Pittsburgh this year from May 13-18, 2018.
We are proud to announce that seven of the 15 Best of Fair projects and eight of the 17 students who won Best of Fair for the Senior Division (and are proceeding on to the international competition at ISEF) hail from Chandler Unified School District!
AzSEF is the science and engineering fair for the state of Arizona and is managed by Arizona Science Center. More than 900 school, homeschool, district, county and regional science fair first place winners from across Arizona competed this year at AzSEF for recognition, prizes and scholarships, and 272 students won awards. Notably, approximately one quarter of ALL of the Elementary and Junior Division awards in the state of Arizona, and one third of ALL of the Senior Division (high school) awards were won by Chandler Unified School District students! Outstanding job!
