May 2019 - CUSD Student Winners at the 2019 International Science and Engineering Fair

  • Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2019

    Intel ISEF 2018 Annually, millions of students worldwide compete in local or school-sponsored science fairs.  The winners of these fairs go on to participate in regional and state fairs... where the BEST of these win the opportunity to attend the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), the world’s largest international pre-college science competition.

     

    The Society for Science and the Public, in partnership with the Intel Foundation, announced award winners on May 16 and17. Congratulations to our Chandler Unified School District students who were awarded the opportunity to showcase their independent research and compete for almost $5 million in prizes with over 1,800 students from more than 80 countries around the world at the 2019 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair!

    Congratulations to Abby Liu, Ella Ai and Thalia Liu! Out of over 1,800 high school students from more than 80 countries, regions, and territories around the world competing May 12 - 17 in Phoenix at the prestigious 2019 International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the team of Abby, Ella and Thalia won 4th place overall in the category of Biomedical and Health Sciences and $500 for their project titled Identifying Key Pathways/Mechanisms for the Generation of Pancreatic Beta Cells by Trans-differentiation of Acinar Cells. 2019 ISEF Grand Award winners
