    Welcome to First Grade! It is going to be an amazing year full of excitement, learning, and growth!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I studied Elementary Education at the University of Illinois.  For ten years, I taught Kindergarten, first grade, and reading intervention.  I then paused my teaching career to stay home with my children.  I am so excited to be able to come back to classroom and join the Goodman community!

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe the classroom is a magical place where students can come as they are. When they are presented with new information and experiences in meaningful ways, they have the opportunity to take ownership of those things and it becomes a part of who they are. I believe that my role as their teacher is to provide them with a safe and loving learning environment where they can be challenged, grow, be successful, and thrive! It is truly my privilege and joy to be their teacher!
