About
Panetta...
I'm the Dean at Frye Elementary. I moved to Arizona in 1993 from Oregon and never looked back, despite the hot, dry Arizona summers. I have been a part of the Frye family since the 2000-2001 school year. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, going to the movies, traveling to warm beaches, shopping and spending time with my family and friends. My husband, Patrick and I live in Ahwatukee with our daughter, Reagan and our three cats.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Finance in 1992. After graduating I realized my true dream was to become an elementary school teacher. I moved to Arizona and graduated from Arizona State University with a Masters of Education in 1995. After graduation I taught in the Kyrene School District for 4 years teaching 3rd and 4th grade. I left the classroom to become a consultant and trainer for the Success for All Foundation (SFAF). In the year 2000, I became a 5th grade teacher at Frye Elementary and then after one year I became the Curriculum Specialist. I also have my SEI endorsement and I am trained in Facilitative Leadership, Tribes and DIBLES. I completed my administration certificate at Arizona State University in May 2020.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe every child is unique and deserves a caring, inspiring, and engaging atmosphere in which to grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially. As an educator I want to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing a safe, risk-taking, and collaborative environment. I want our students to development positive character and leadership traits which are essential in becoming a productive citizen. I believe a positive elementary education is essential to creating successful life-long learners.

Perez...
Welcome Falcons! My name is Ileana Perez and I am your school social worker. I am a Chandler, Arizona native and honored to be in my community serving others. I provide social, emotional, and mental health support services to our students. I also work with the student's families to locate community resources. I work collaboratively with students, their families, teachers, and supportive staff to remove barriers to the student's educational learning.
My Education and Professional Background
I am a two-time Sun Devil! I earned my bachelor's and master's from Arizona State University in Social Work. I have experience working with children and families to ensure child safety as well as mental health and social emotional services.
My Educational Philosophy
By providing a safe place, children will have the opportunity to express themselves freely while remaining true to their silly selves. Remaining trauma-informed, utilizing the person-in-environment framework, and other therapeutic concepts, we will be able to understand the child as a whole and address the underlying issues. By treating the child as a whole and ensuring the child's behavioral, mental, and basic needs are being met will set up a strong foundation for a child to succeed in life.

My Education and Professional Background
BA Education from Arizona State University MA Education: Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as a educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. There are three elements that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1) the teacher acting as a guide, (2) allowing the child's natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and (3) promoting respect for all things and all people.

About
Ferguson...
I love being a reading specialist and coaching the Battle of the Books Teams at Frye Elementary School. If you are looking for a great book to read, just ask, I have plenty to recommend! ! I love teaching reading and my students have heard me say many times that I have the best job in the whole world!
My Education and Professional Background
I attended Western Washington University and completed a B.A. in Elementary Education. I also completed a M.A. Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from City University. I have obtained endorsements in reading, early childhood education, and Sheltered English Immersion. Prior to becoming a Falcon, I taught first grade for thirteen years in Washington State. I was a reading specialist 3rd-5th grade, for five years. Then, I decided to leave the rainy Pacific Northwest and head to the Arizona sunshine. I was a reading specialist at Knox Elementary School from 2004 through the 2011 school year. Then, I jumped back into the classroom and taught third grade for the 2011-2012 school year. The 2012-2013 school year was my first year as a Frye Falcon!
My Educational Philosophy
I believe all children are capable and desire to learn. By planning and executing, data driven, engaging lessons, students will not only advance in their skills, but be motivated learners. All students come to school with talents that need to be celebrated and respected. When students feel they belong, through kind and respectful interactions, they will succeed. I communicate, educate, and guide my students in the same manner I would want for my own children.
