Welcome!
Welcome! I can’t wait to see your smiles and connect with you! Together we will make this a great new year by learning life skills, academic skills, and more! YOU are the reason I teach and I am very excited to be your teacher this year.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Arizona State University from Barrett’s, the Honors College with a degree in Special Education and Elementary Education with a minor in Speech and Hearing Science. I am certified in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Middle Grades Mathematics. I began teaching at Willis in January 2019 and have taught as a 7th/8th-grade Co-teacher and Resource Math teacher. This year I am the 8th-grade Resource Co-teacher and will be working with all the 8th-grade houses to support students in math and language arts providing academic support via small groups and re-teach in their classes or in their Strategies elective.
My Educational Philosophy
My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where the teacher can focus on the whole child—this means they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially while learning the academic content. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their fullest potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas, take risks, and challenge themselves to further their personal learning journey.
