    Welcome!

    I am so excited to be working with your students as their English Language Development teacher! I joined Chandler Unified in 2000 as a classroom teacher, and have worn many hats over the years.
    I enjoy traveling and experiencing new languages and cultures, baseball, reading a new book, going to the beach, science, and spending time with my son, Shaun.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I am an Arizona State University alum (Go Devils!) and completed my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2000. A couple of years later, I returned to ASU to complete my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Second Language Acquisition. I carry endorsements in both Early Childhood Education and Structured English Immersion.

    My Educational Philosophy

    My philosophy is simply this: treat each child as a whole human being, because they are! Each child has unique social, emotional, mental, and physiological needs and experiences that shape who they are as both people and learners. The more I can do to understand and respect the whole child, the better I can teach, and the safer they feel to learn.
