Welcome!
My passion in life is reading! I love taking a book and opening up my mind to new adventures, ideas, and learning. I want to foster this love of reading for all students! Teaching reading skills like phonics, decoding, reading fluency, and comprehension help students gain confidence in their reading abilities. With strong reading skills, students can have the whole world at their fingertips. I hope to help all students gain strong reading skills and have a love of reading!
My Education and Professional Background
In 1998, I graduated with my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. I earned my ESL Endorsement while I was teaching in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2004, I earned my Masters in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I also earned my Reading Endorsement. In 2015, I earned my Library Media Endorsement. All parts of my teaching career have focused on my passion of Reading. I have taught for 17 years. I have taught 5th Grade, 4th Grade, 3rd Grade, 2nd Grade. I have enjoyed being a Reading Specialist and a Library Media Specialist for all students grades K-6th!
My Educational Philosophy
My educational philosophy is that all students are capable of learning! No matter where you are in the learning process, you are capable of learning more and becoming an informed and educated citizen! Strive to learn something new each day!
