    Welcome to 2nd grade! My name is Laura Kurowski. I am very excited to be here at Galveston! Previously I have taught 1st and 3rd grade. I am looking forward to a fabulous year at Galveston!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I received a Bachelors degree in Sociology from Illinois State University. I have a Structured English Immersion endorsement. I also have a Masters degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix.

    My Educational Philosophy

    My educational philosophy is a combination of my desire to teach and be a lifelong learner. As a teacher, I am constantly learning during classroom and student interaction. My classroom is a safe and expressive place, where education is the primary focus. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to ensure each child is given the best education possible, to allow them to reach their full potential.
