Welcome!

I am very excited to start teaching music here at Galveston Elementary! I believe that learning music is similar to learning a new language, except we learn to express what words cannot. The more we speak the musical language, the more we will learn about ourselves and others. I look forward to making music with you all!

My Education and Professional Background

I graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Music Education. I completed my student teaching at Anderson Junior High and have also worked with the Basha High marching band as a music technician. I am proficient in both clarinet and piano.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that all students are capable of learning. As an educator, I am responsible for accommodating diverse learning styles by modifying instruction to enhance their experience. It is my role to provide students with a safe and supportive environment to take risks and understand that personal growth is continuous, and knowledge is endless. Through their own personal journeys, these students will learn to develop self-confidence and expand their abilities to create new endeavors. I feel that educators should strive to keep students actively engaged in learning, by providing opportunities that are personal and meaningful to them. Most importantly, I believe educators are role models in helping students grow as well-rounded individuals and I do accept to live up to that expectation.

Welcome!

Welcome to 5th grade! This is my first year at Galveston. I am excited for a year of learning and getting to know you all! Please contact me if you have any questions. Let's make it a great year!

My Education and Professional Background

I graduated from Arizona State University in December of 2018 with a degree in Elementary Education. I did my first year of teaching in Mesa Public Schools in 3rd grade. This will be my second year teaching and I am excited to begin my new journey at Galveston this school year!

My Educational Philosophy

I believe it is important to create a positive learning environment so that students can be successful. It takes a great classroom community for students to have a positive learning experience where they can all grow together and learn from each other. I believe it is important to have differentiation in lessons because all students learn in their own unique way. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming learning environment where the students feel excited to come and learn each day.
