    Hello and welcome to Andersen Elementary School’s Media Center!

    My name is Jane Starkey, and I am the Media Specialist at our school.

    I want to welcome all Andersen family members to visit our library and see the amazing collections we have for our students.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with reading and early childhood specializations.

    After teaching kindergarten and first grade, I pursued my master’s degree in Media and Technology and have served as Media Specialist at CUSD since that time.

    I have taught at several CUSD schools and am pleased to be a part of the Andersen community.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that all children should be given access to age-appropriate reading materials that complement their journey through education.

    It is my greatest pleasure to thoughtfully source and acquire the literature that helps to create the well-rounded students at Andersen Elementary School.
