Welcome!
Welcome to Spanish! I look forward to getting to know your child. Together we will make this a fantastic year of learning and growth.
My Education and Professional Background
I have a Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University. I began working in education over 28 years ago. I have had the privilege of being a substitute, teaching kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, and now Spanish. Spanish is my first language and I participated in a bilingual program in elementary school. I also majored in Spanish in college.
My Educational Philosophy
I firmly believe that all children will learn in a nurturing environment that makes them feel safe while challenging them to take learning risks. I work very hard to create a classroom where diversity is respected, and children feel valued as important contributing members of our school family. In Spanish class, we work hard to become better communicators globally by learning to understand and express ourselves in Spanish.
