    Welcome!

    Hi! I am Carey Paulo, I am excited to be back with the San Marcos team as a Reading Specialist. I have worked with children and reading in some facet, as a reading para, tutor or reading specialist now for 24 years. I was born in Adrian, Michigan, but moved here to sunny Arizona at the age of two. My husband and I are blessed with two amazing sons that are very active and keep us young and spirited. Most days you can find me cheering at a basketball or baseball game, or heading to the gym with one of these active guys. In my spare time, I love to read, watch movies, but most of all spend time with family and friends.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in education at Ottawa University, in Arizona. I was hired in the Gilbert District with a classroom reduction grant, which encouraged me to go back to school to learn more about teaching reading. I then began working towards my Masters in Elementary Education with an Endorsement in Reading. I continue to love learning more about reading and will be working toward the Literacy K-8 Endorsement this year.

    My Educational Philosophy

    All children learn differently but with a safe, stimulating and supportive educational environment all children can grow and succeed mentally, emotionally and socially.
    However, not without the effort of the student- I love this quote!
