    My Education and Professional Background

    I began my teaching career in 2011 and I have been teaching at San Marcos since 2017. Before coming to San Marcos, I taught in Seattle, Washington and Charlotte, North Carolina. I was born and raised in Phoenix and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at Arizona State University.

    My Educational Philosophy

    My teaching philosophy is centered around Maslow's hierarchy of needs. I feel that students must feel safe and cared for before they are ready to learn. I focus on creating a collaborative classroom community where students feel safe and able to take risks. I love teaching and it is my goal for all of my students to enjoy coming to school.
