• Class Time: Be on time as your child will miss out on learning when they arrive late. Class time is 8:00-2:30.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures:  Please walk your child all the way to the classroom to sign in and out.  Be sure a teacher has seen your child walk in or out.  When signing, please use a legible first and last name, or the signature on your driver’s license.

Parking:  Please pull into a parking spot when dropping off or picking up.  Children must be attended by an adult in the parking lot.  Leaving your car unattended curbside will more than likely result in an all-school announcement asking you to move your vehicle.

Newsletter:  A monthly newsletter will be emailed, or sent home on paper, at the beginning of each month.  There will also be one posted in the classroom.  Please take the time to read it as there are helpful reminders, what we are learning in class, and important dates included.

Snacks and Lunch:  Morning and afternoon snacks, as well as lunch, are provided by the school.  If your child has food restrictions, please be sure the teacher is aware of them.  If your child has a food allergy, please have the proper paperwork on file in the health office.  The menus are posted on the parent info board in the class as well as on the CUSD Nutrition website.  There is no microwave or refrigerator for student use, so if you are providing home food for your child, pack accordingly.

Birthdays:  You are welcome to bring in treats for your child’s birthday as long as they are store bought and in the original unopened packaging. Nothing containing peanuts or tree nuts please.  At this age, it is a good idea to think about something other than cupcakes, unless it is the minis, as the children are not usually able to finish a regular-sized cupcake on their own.  Some alternatives are, fruit with whipped cream, cookies, fruit snacks, popsicles...  You can also ask your child what he/she would like to bring in. Children are full of great ideas.

Clothing:  Uniforms are red or blue polo shirt, and navy blue or khaki pants, shorts, or skirts.  On Fridays, children may wear the Friday shirt provided by the school.  *Rule of thumb, if children need help dressing in the morning, it should not be worn to school.  Close-toed shoes are recommended, sandaled feet have been known to get hurt by woodchips.

Bathroom:  Your child should be fully capable of using the bathroom by themselves.  Teachers do not help with wiping, zippers, buttons, or belts.  Please dress children to be successful in the bathroom as well as in class.  Please be sure your child uses the bathroom and washes their hands with soap and water before coming into the classroom.  This helps to ensure children do not miss circle time, or accidently bring allergens into the room that can hurt another child.
