Welcome Back Galveston Students and Families!
My name is Carissa Lynch. I am going on my 6th year with Chandler Unified School District. I have taught at Shumway Elementary and taught K-6th Special Education. I will continue at Galveston Elementary as the K/1 Opportunity Classroom teacher. I am very excited to be here! My family and I moved here from Rio Rancho, New Mexico. I attended University of New Mexico and earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I then taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I decided to go back to school to learn more about Reading and Special Education. I then earned my Master's in Special Education. In Rio Rancho, NM, I taught Special Education in K/1 and 5th grade. I recently completed my 2nd Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with Western New Mexico University.
My family and I enjoy taking drives, traveling, swimming, and spending time together. We have a son who will go to college in Flagstaff, AZ, and our daughter will begin Jr. High in 6th grade in Gilbert Public Schools. I enjoy reading, swimming, and cooking mexican food for my family and friends.
I look forward to working with my wonderful students in the K/1 classroom. I am very happy to be part of the Galveston Elementary team!
