    Welcome!

    Welcome to Navarrete Elementary School!  My name is Christie DeCarlo, and I am thrilled to part of the Navarrete team as the Dean of Students.  It is truly an honor to be a part of the Nighthawk family and community.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I was born and raised in NY. I have been living and teaching in AZ for the last 20 years. I have my master’s degree in Elementary Education (K-6) and Cross Category Special Education (K-12). I have taught special education and general education at both Gilbert Public Schools as well as Chandler Unified. I have also served as an academic specialist for Chandler Unified while pursuing my dreams of leadership. I am passionate about making education a fun place to explore and learn. I have two children who are former Nighthawks, and I am thrilled to return to the school that helped to shape their formative years.

    My Educational Philosophy

    My core values are collaboration, community, integrity, honesty, and inclusion. My leadership style focuses on coaching the capacity of others, gathering input from stakeholders through a team approach, and making decisions that align with our mission, vision, and core values. I am determined to create an inclusive environment where educators provide rigorous education for ALL students and create a place for students to thrive as leaders both academically and socially. As a leader I hope to share my knowledge, experience, and passion to support students, colleagues, and members of our community.
