    Welcome!

    Welcome to 2nd Grade! I'm excited to have your child in my class this year and I am looking forward to having a successful year full of lots of fun, learning and memories!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated from Arizona State University (Go Devils!) with a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature in 2002. After graduating college, I worked in the field of public service. During a trip to Uganda to work with orphaned children, I realized my true passion for teaching. When I got back to the states I enrolled in Northern Arizona University and in 2006 I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I have taught in Chandler Unified School District since 2006 and have had the wonderful opportunity to teach both first and second grade at Navarrete Elementary.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I am a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher! I feel blessed to do what I do and I love my profession! My goal is to foster a safe and comfortable learning environment for my students while connecting with their individual learning styles. I feel my students benefit from actively engaging in lessons and participating in cooperative learning experiences. I believe in creating highly engaging lessons where students are able to celebrate their successes and develop a life long love for learning!
