    Welcome!

    Welcome to first grade! My name is Mrs. Smith and I am so very excited to be working with your child this year. This year will be a great fun filled year of learning!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in May of 2012.I have been teaching for eleven years and have taught kindergarten, first and third grade.

    My Educational Philosophy

    My ultimate goal as a teacher is to inspire and educate my students to become lifelong learners. To inspire them to think outside the box and never be afraid to take a risk and go beyond what is asked of them. I believe in creating a positive learning environment where every child feels comfortable to express their thoughts and opinions. My hope is that my passion for teaching will bring a passion for learning to my students. As your child’s teacher it will be my goal this year to help your child feel valued, appreciated and empowered to reach his/her full academic potential.
