Dear Students and Parents,

I am extremely excited about this school year. We are going to have a great year!
       
Welcome to Mrs. Speer’s second grade. I am honored that I get to teach you. We are going to work very hard this year, but we are going to have fun as well.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. This is my 21st year teaching. It is something I absolutely love. This is my 17th year teaching at Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) and my 16th year at Patterson. I have had the privilege of teaching here since the beginning.

I was born in New York and grew up outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am an only child. I knew when I was 10 years old that I wanted to be a teacher. I went to college in Virginia and met my husband. We moved out here 17 years ago because my husband got a job at Honeywell to work on airplane engines. I have a daughter named Katelyn, who is 14 years old and a son named Lee who is almost 12 years old. I LOVE to read and like to travel. I also like to watch movies and like outside activities.

I am here to help you grow as a person. Please know that I will respect you and expect the same respect in return. At any time you have a question or problem, please come and see me.

We are here to work as a team. I hope you are as ready as I am to start the year off right!
