My name is Mary Chase. I grew up on a farm in Iowa where we had pigs, horses, goats, chickens, cows, cats, dogs, and turkeys at one time or another. I learned to drive on a tractor and was a pro at pulling the manure spreader. Sometimes I miss the smell of hay, but I sure don’t miss the smell of the hog house!

I earned my BA from the University of Northern Iowa in 1990 and moved to Arizona in July of that same year. I began my teaching career at Toltec Elementary (near Casa Grande) where I taught 3rd grade until 1998. I moved to Chandler and taught 1st grade for a year at Shumway, then moved to 5th grade in 1999.  I earned my MA from Northern Arizona University in 2001.  I joined the Patterson Pride in the fall of 2013.

I have been married for 25 years and have 2 sons. My husband, Mike, is a finance manager at a small company in Phoenix. He also works for the NFL, the AFL, and the Big 10.  Tyler is a sophomore at ASU where he is studying to be a high school math teacher.  Ethan is a sophomore at Basha High School and is looking forward to getting his driving permit this fall.  We keep busy attending sporting events as a family and traveling.
