    Welcome!

Hello, Haley families! My role as a school counselor is to promote the personal, social, emotional, and academic growth of all students. Students will have regular contact with me as I am at Haley full-time providing support around the school. Some of the services I provide include:

-Classroom social emotional lessons (SEL) to all students, grades K-6
-Small group counseling to teach social emotional skills and strategies. Group topics typically include worry and coping skills, identifying and managing emotions, social skills, problem-solving or conflict resolution
-Short-term counseling and one on one support for personal, emotional, or social concerns
-Crisis intervention- providing immediate support in times of crisis or significant stress
-Providing resources and connecting families to community resources

If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please reach out to me. I’m happy to help in any way I can. Additionally, I am the 504 coordinator at Haley and can answer any questions regarding 504 accommodation plans.

    My Education and Professional Background

My school counseling career started in 2015, and I have been the school counselor at Haley since 2020. I earned my B.S. in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay in 2011, and my M.Ed. in Counseling from DePaul University in 2014. I am currently licensed as a School Counselor in Arizona and Wisconsin and have my Professional Counselor License (LPC) in Illinois.

    My Educational Philosophy

My philosophy aligns with the core values of trauma sensitive schools- choice, collaboration, empowerment, safety, and trustworthiness. I believe that it is my job to create a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who steps into my office and Haley Elementary. I work from a student-centered approach and believe that building relationships is the most important part of my job. I believe that a collaborative approach is best, and that students benefit from strong home-school partnerships.
