    Welcome!

    My name is Erica Marsh. I live in Chandler just a few miles away from Ryan. All of my children go to Ryan (2nd,4th,6th). They all love volunteering in my classroom and spending time with my students. In my free time, I love going on adventures with my family, growing house plants, thrifting, sewing, and watching Netflix. Thank you for trusting me to take care of your child every day; to teach them, push them to be their best, and comfort them when things get tough.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I received my undergraduate degree from St. Joseph's University in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education in 2002. With this degree and an emergency certification, I worked for 4 years for the Coolidge School District as a special education teacher. During this time, I went back to school and earned my Master's degree in Cross-categorical special education in 2007. I have been teaching at Ryan Elementary School since 2007, and have been fortunate enough to remain.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe every child deserves a quality education, a school environment they feel safe in, professionals that are invested in their success, guidance to become as independent as possible, and opportunities to contribute to the school community. I believe my students with special needs should be included in activities with their peers in the general curriculum when appropriate. These interactions are valuable for all students and staff members that are involved. This creates a climate of acceptance as well as opportunities to celebrate differences. I value parent input, involvement, and communication during the school year so that all team members can be on the "same page".
