    Welcome to Ryan Elementary and 6th Grade!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated as a Sun Devil from Arizona State University (Go Devils!) in May 1996 where I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in History. In the fall of 1996, I began my teaching career in a neighboring district. In December of 1999, I received my master’s degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I have continued to further my education by attending conferences, seminars, graduate level classes and reading educational research and literature. I received my National Board Certification in Literacy in December 2021. I am beginning my 28th year of teaching!

    My Educational Philosophy

    The teacher's role is that of facilitator; developing lifelong learners and providing engaging experiences that build content knowledge and skills for all students. It is my responsibility to apply a wide variety of teaching strategies and learning opportunities, as well as carry out a 'fostering' role so each child can experience their fullest potential.

    I hope my students seek opportunities for learning and develop confidence within themselves.
