    My Education and Professional Background

    I attended Florida State University (Go Noles!) where I received a BS in Elementary Education. I taught 5th grade in my hometown of Marietta, GA before moving to Arizona in 1997. Once here, I taught 5th and 6th grade in CUSD. In 2002, I earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from NAU. In 2019, I decided to switch gears from being a general ed teacher to doing small group Reading interventions. I am now a state certified Reading Specialist working with K-6 students, including multi-language learners. I love learning new things and always try to stay up to date on the latest teaching practices to help support all my students.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that children learn best when they are engaged and having fun! I also know that each child is unique, and I love getting to know each one and learning what makes them tick. I believe in a strong partnership between home and school, and I look forward to working with all my students to help them reach their full potential.
