My family and I moved from Washington State in 1999, and love living in the Arizona sun.
My husband and I have two grown children and two very loved dogs. We enjoy traveling, home improvement projects and being outside. I love to garden, read, and paint.
I knew teaching was my calling the minute my daughter started preschool. I was asked to substitute and my career began to take shape. I started as a reading tutor in Washington State and continued in a variety of positions upon moving to Arizona. I studied sign language for two years and enjoy teaching ASL to my students. I completed my Bachelors degree at Ottawa University in 2004. Technology is my passion, I completed my Masters Degree in Elementary Education with minor in Educational Technology from NAU in 2010.I began my career as a para-professional in the Kyrene district as I finished my teaching degree. I worked for two years at Conley Elementary, opened Fulton Elementary and worked there for 9 years, moved to CTA Goodman for 2 years and am excited for a new experience at Carlson. I have taught first, second and third grade.
The motto in my classroom is ‘Believe in Yourself' and I truly believe that all students are capable of personal success. Along with my guidance and support, my students build self-esteem and confidence while achieving their learning goals. I love watching my students learn and learning along with them. I am passionate about teaching and hope to ignite the passion for learning in my students.
