• First Week of School

Separation:  Kindergarten is a growing experience for parents as well as children.  Separation anxiety is quite normal for children at this age.  The best solution (although not the easiest) is to assure your child of a great day, say goodbye as they head to class, and let the teacher take it from there.  Our student service coordinator is also availble to help with any tears if necessary.  We will let you know when the classroom community is established and we are ready for parent volunteers.

Supplies, Folders, and Backpacks:  The following supplies should be brought to school daily:  a backpack, healthy lunch or have lunch money loaded onto their account, water bottle, and their folder.  If supplies are needed throughout the year, they will be posted in the newsletter.  Please ensure your child’s backpack, lunchbox, and water bottle are clearly labeled!

To help your child carry information to and from school, you are asked to provide a backpack large enough to fit their folder, their lunchbox AND a change of clothes.  Please have your child remove the papers each day from the backpack and folder to share with you.

The folder will contain everything the student and parent need to keep up with what is going on at school.  Important notes, communication, completed work, and event flyers are some of the items you will see.  Your child will bring this folder home and to school daily in their backpack.  Please read, empty, and return the folder the next day.
