My husband and I, and our four boys love to camp and do anything outdoors! I am also a HUGE Harry Potter fan! I just know that we are going to have a fantastic year getting to know each other and growing together. Let the magic begin!
My Education and Professional Background
As long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a teacher. The teachers and experiences that I had in elementary school paved my way towards education. In 2005, I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Indiana University. Then, I was fortunate enough to be able to stay home and raise my four boys. After moving from Indiana to Arizona in 2012, I decided to get back into my profession as a teacher.

My Education and Professional Background
I have been fortunate to be a teacher in this district since 2006. Singing has been a passion of mine since I was very young. My performing has afforded me many fun experiences including musical theater, recitals, performing abroad, singing with orchestras, and recording. I even got to perform in an Opera in Rome! I graduated from Arizona State University in May of 2003 with Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance. Because I greatly enjoyed teaching private music lessons, I decided a year later to go back to ASU to pursue music education. In 2006 I received my music education certification. Becoming a music teacher is one of the best decisions I have ever made. This is the perfect job for me!
My Educational Philosophy
In order to enjoy life to the fullest, we must experience new things and learn. In order to learn, education must be enjoyable.

Welcome to Carlson Elementary Physical Education. It's going to be a great school year! I look forward to meeting all my students and our new families. My goal, as a physical education teacher, is to teach my students how to live a healthy and active lifestyle through physical activity. I want students to leave my class knowing that they did their best and feeling successful.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from ASU with a Bachelor's in Physical Education and received my Master's from the University of Phoenix. I started my teaching career in 2002 and have been in Chandler since 2008.
My Educational Philosophy
Physical education provides the opportunity to teach students about movement, strategies, teamwork, problem solving and health related fitness. Each of these areas is addressed in the National Association for Sport and Physical Education’s (NASPE) standards and is important to teaching the whole student. Exposing students to various physical activities, sports, and methods of fitness can better provide enjoyment of physical activity, as well as build social, psychomotor, and cognitive skills. I strive to safely provide the means for students to enjoy physical activity, become more confident with their abilities, increase their knowledge of health related fitness, and help them find ways to continue to be physically active.
