    Welcome!

    I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Steve Tobias and I will be your 7th Grade Social Studies teacher this school year. This is my 21st year in education and I am looking forward to a wonderful year at Santan Jr. High!!!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have taught 17 years in middle school in the subjects of English Language Arts and Social Studies. I have coached many sports at the middle school and high school levels, and will be coaching the 8th Grade Flag Football team this year at Santan Jr. High School.  Go STORM!!!!!  Prior to coming to CUSD, I served communities as an Assistant Principal for four years. I received my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Education with a Major in Political Science and a Minor in History from The University of Arizona and my Masters of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Arizona State University.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that students need lessons that are relevant to their lives and have teachers that are passionate and experts in their subject area. All students have the capacity to learn what is being taught to them if they are willing to learn and have compassionate people teaching them.
