    Welcome!

Welcome to Santan Junior High! My name is Mr. Graham Dawkins. I'm a Specialized Classroom Teacher in Room 15, which is in the F building. I look forward to being your teacher this year, and being part of the Santan Junior High community. I'll be coaching football and basketball and involved with Storming Buddies.

I'm originally from Denver, Colorado. Go Broncos! I'm a big Suns fan too. I've lived in Arizona since 2001, and I'm married with 2 girls. My wife, Amanda, is a 2nd grade teacher in Gilbert, and my daughters are named Harper and Avery.

I've been teaching since 2013, and have taught at a high school, elementary school and junior high. I love working with students who have special needs, and have a passion for being an advocate for those that need someone in their corner.

    My Education and Professional Background

Northern Arizona Univeristy: Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with a Principal Certification. (2019)

Northern Arizona University: Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Edication. (2013)

    Santan Junior High School; 2022-current

    Tarwater Elementary School; 2018-2022

    Gilbert/Highland High/Junior School; 2013-2018

    My Educational Philosophy

At the risk of sounding cliché, I strongly believe that an education begins with building relationships with students in order to find out about them and what drives them. A teacher needs that trust a strong relationship gives. Their "why". Once you have that as a teacher your job becomes so much easier.

I'm also driven by being an advocate or safe place for students who need a champion. I've been around students with special needs most my life. My mother is a retired special education teacher and it is all that I've ever wanted to do.
