    Welcome!

    Hello, my name is Sarah Riffle and I will be your student teacher this year. This is my 4th year at Shumway, and I am excited for another year of excitement and growth. I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Arizona in 2019. I have been with my husband Ron since we were kids, and we have three beautiful children, Aniyah, Koshen and Jayanna and two dogs, Trinity and Xena. I am excited to get to know your student and see their growth this year.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have my bachelor's degree from Indiana University and my Master's in Special Education from ASU. I started my teaching career 8 years ago in early childhood education as a preschool teacher for 5 years and made my transition to special education in 2020. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe every student has the opportunity to be the best version of themselves. Through respect, hard work, connections and building a community, every student can thrive and be successful in all areas. Together we can make an impact on how students view their education and the importance of it.
