    Welcome!

    Hello! My name is Karina Bolaños and I will be your child's Kindergarten teacher! I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten this year and get to know all your wonderful students. I was born and raised in Mesa, AZ and love it here! I love being a teacher and I love Kindergarten! When I am not teaching I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, reading a good book, watching movies and trying out new places or things!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I attended Mesa Community College to get my associates degree in Elementary Education. I then transferred to Arizona State University to get my Bachelors in Elementary Education! GO SUNDEVILS!!! I taught preschool for 3 years. I was a Paid Student Teacher last year in Kindergarten. This will be my first year as an official teacher and first year at Shumway! 

    My Educational Philosophy

    Every student that walks through my door deserves a safe and loving environment in order for them to thrive and become life-long learners. In my classroom I welcome students from all different cultures and unique abilities! Each student who comes into my classroom will be a Shumway Star and a Great Leader! I will strive to teach my students the important components of the kindergarten curriculum at Shumway Leadership Academy, while also inspiring them to love learning.
